Jumping Crocs!

Several of us decided to sign up for a tour on Saturday. The title of the tour only too perfectly described what we would see....

Jumping Crocs

Fun facts about Crocs

They can see 320 degrees around them, so not quite 380 degree but nearly all the way around themselves. This makes they great hunters.

They actually have very small stomachs but are opportunistic feeders and will eat any time.

They can feel vibrations for 20 feet away…so if you’re on the shore stay at least 20 feet away or farther-they know you’re there even if you don’t know they are there.

Crocs can hold their breath for 4 hours. Usually they will take their prey and drown them rather than eat them right on the spot. They do have to come up to the surface to eat. They are not underwater eaters like fish.

They often sit on the shore with their spiny back sitting in the sun and the rest of their body in the water. This is how they heat up their body.
